Petty and Associates is a management consulting firm providing companies and not-for-profit organizations in the AEC industry with marketing and communication services, strategic and business planning, customer service expertise, soft skill development, and leadership coaching. Founded 1989 in Dallas, Texas and currently based in Houston, Trudy Shay Petty is the principal and owner.
In the early years, the firm’s diverse clientele included a hospitality interior design firm which represented our first successful foray in the design and construction industry. This led to numerous other engagements with commercial contractors, architectural firms, and The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). Since 1994, Petty and Associates has worked exclusively with clients representing ENR top-ranked companies, midsize and smaller firms with annual revenues ranging from $4 million to $400 million, industry trade organizations, and professional associations.
As Trudy’s knowledge about the design and construction process increased over time, her respect and passion for the industry and the people who make up the industry has grown as well. Working with several AGC Chapters, she had the opportunity to facilitate 200+ forums attended by owners, architects, engineers, construction program faculty, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to address industry issues, find solutions and identify new opportunities. She has conducted 90+ in-depth customer interviews for clients and facilitated numerous partnering, planning and teambuilding sessions with project teams. Each of these opportunities has provided Trudy with unique insight into the design and construction process and everyone’s respective expectations for a positive customer experience.
